Jeff Acker Announces Re-Election Bid for Mayor of Spruce Grove

Spruce Grove, AB — Mayor Jeff Acker has officially announced his intention to seek re-election in the 2025 municipal election. His campaign builds on his strong record of collaboration, sound decision-making, and steady leadership through a time of significant growth and change.

“It’s been the honour of my life to serve the people of Spruce Grove,” said Acker. “Over the past four years, we’ve made real progress—investing in neighbourhood safety, expanding transit and recreation, modernizing infrastructure, and keeping taxes responsible. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, but there’s more to do—and I’m ready to keep leading that work.”

Acker, a lifelong resident and experienced municipal leader, has served on Council for over 12 years and as Mayor since 2021. He brings a grounded, practical understanding of city governance, regional collaboration, and the long-term planning required to manage one of Alberta’s fastest-growing communities.

“This is a job that requires more than good intentions. It takes experience, a willingness to partner, and a clear understanding of how municipal government actually works—because getting it wrong costs real people time, money, and trust.”

Throughout his term, Acker has made customer service a clear priority—championing efforts to improve responsiveness, streamline permitting, and making City Hall more accessible to residents and businesses community.

He has also emphasized financial discipline, finding efficiencies across departments while protecting front-line services and preparing for future growth.

“I’ve never believed government should grow for the sake of growing. We need to keep asking tough questions, find smarter ways of delivering services, and treat every tax dollar like it matters—because it does.” Acker’s campaign will focus on:

  • Maintaining strong city services while identifying areas to reduce red tape and improve efficiency
  • Keeping taxes reasonable by planning responsibly and spending wisely
  • Supporting safer, connected neighbourhoods
  • Strengthening regional and provincial partnerships to secure investment and improve infrastructure
  • Ensuring residents feel heard, respected, and well-served by their local government

“In a time of change, experience matters. I’ve shown I can lead—not just in Council Chambers, but at regional tables, with provincial partners, and in the everyday conversations that build trust between City Hall and the people we serve. I’m running again because I believe in this community and in the work ahead.”
