Special Ballots

If you’re unable to vote during Advance Voting or on Election Day, you may be eligible to vote by special ballot.

Special ballots are available for eligible voters who are registered on the City of Spruce Grove’s Permanent Electors Register and unable to attend a voting station in person.

To vote by special ballot, you must submit a formal request to the Returning Officer. This request must be made by the voter themselves — it cannot be submitted on your behalf.


How to Request a Special Ballot

  • Requests can be made between August 1 and 4:00 PM on October 17, 2025

  • You can submit your request in writing, by phone, in person, or by email

  • The Request for Special Ballot Package form and submission instructions will be available starting August 1

  • Once your request is approved, your special ballot package will be mailed out beginning September 29


Returning Your Completed Ballot

Completed special ballots must be received by the Election Office no later than 4:30 PM on Monday, October 20, 2025 (Election Day).

Your package will include step-by-step instructions. Make sure it is complete and returned on time — ballots received late or missing required information cannot be counted.
