How to Vote in the 2025 Spruce Grove Municipal Election

Voting is one of the most direct and powerful ways you can help shape the future of Spruce Grove.

Under new provincial legislation, all eligible voters must be listed on the Permanent Electors Register to vote in the upcoming Municipal Election on October 20, 2025.

To make voting as smooth as possible, we encourage all residents to register or confirm their voter information in advance.

Who Can Vote?

You are eligible to vote in the Spruce Grove election if you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age

  • Are a Canadian citizen

  • Have your place of residence in the City of Spruce Grove on Election Day (October 20, 2025)

Identification Requirements

There are different ID requirements depending on whether you’re registered or non-registered on the Permanent Electors Register:

If you are a registered voter:

Bring valid government-issued photo ID that includes your name and photograph.

Examples include:

  • Alberta Driver’s Licence

  • Canadian Passport

  • Métis Nation of Alberta Card

  • Firearms Possession & Acquisition Licence

  • Veterans Health Care ID Card

If you are not registered:

You’ll need to bring valid government-issued photo ID that shows your name, photograph, and current address — such as an Alberta Driver’s Licence.

If your address is not listed or you lack photo ID, you can provide two separate pieces of ID:

  • One showing your name (e.g. Alberta Health Care Card, Passport)

  • One showing your name and current address (e.g. utility bill, lease agreement, tax assessment)

If you cannot provide address ID:

You may have another registered voter vouch for your address, provided they live at the same residence and meet eligibility requirements.
